Atticus has spent the last 20 years perfecting a talent and gift into one of the most dynamic and largest groups in the nation. With incredible help from his parents, The Cottonwood Cloggers were formed and are still here today. Through the use of modern technology and proven to work teaching methods, the Cottonwood Cloggers are taking clogging to people everywhere, sharing the joys and benefits this fast growing national pastime has to offer.

The Cottonwood Cloggers have come a long way, nothing short of a miracle. The groups small beginning consisted of four children. From that time the group has grown to a number reaching thousands. Beginning in Adrian, Michigan the Cottonwood Cloggers have expanded throughout the states of Michigan and Ohio and into Canada, on track for national outreach.

Atticus Sumner has been on an entertainment journey since he was a teenager, making his first public appearance with one dance during the Lenawee County Fair. Since then, he has created the Cottonwood Cloggers which is a dance company that operates in several Michigan communities and is in the process of setting up franchise operations throughout the country; created and leads the "million taps for a million kids" campaign which inspires youth to use dance as a form of exercise in fighting the childhood obesity plaguing our country. He has performed throughout the United States and is now breaking into the music industry with his own original music. When Atticus first began composing music he was inspired by his 20 years of history in the entertainment industry as well as his own life lessons. This music is truly a glimpse into the soul of a man as he makes his way through this wonderful life journey.

Some people have referred to Atticus as "phenomenal, inspiring and brilliant" both in his music and his dance. The music itself can best be described as an eclectic mix of blues, country, rock and roll, and jazz - during his show, you will see his music in motion Atticus has inspired many people through his dance and you too will be able to experience this talent at his debut performance of what is sure to be a nationally recognized musical phenomenon.

Atticus Sumner and the Cottonwood Cloggers have appeared frequently on television, radio and in the newspapers throughout the country. The group performed at the Fox Theater in Detroit, opened for the Grand Ole Opry with Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys, Ricky Skaggs, Holly Dunn, and the Bellamy Brothers. Atticus has also worked with Tom Monaghan founder of Domino's pizza, Olympic Medalist Judy Brown, Willard Scott , Minnie Pearl, award winning national hip hop artist G-Reality and national promoting group the Promo Kingz which has lead the successes of the Kings and Queens of comedy tours, and Martin Lawrences Run Tel Dat Tour with Universal Films. Atticus and the Cottonwood Cloggers have traveled throughout the United States and Canada teaching workshops and performing for hundreds of thousands each year. Since their humble beginnings the group has come a long way. From sheets of plywood on the ground and four members the Cottonwood Cloggers have grown into three performance teams with over one hundred combined performers. Atticus now has his own full stage production called American Thunder which features the best material of his career in addition to musicians and singers.

When the Cottonwood Cloggers are not performing, they enjoy regular exercise at class, help with after school clogging clubs for children, and get together for parties and fun dances to raise money for the clogging scholarship fund for kids. The Cottonwood Cloggers are community and family oriented.
